The Big Breakfast Diet – Find out Why it’s Helpful for Weight Loss
When I was a kid my parents used to say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and I’m sure that your parents did the same too. And guess what? They were right about the benefits of eating big breakfast. If you ask me to choose one meal a day I’ll definitely go with breakfast. I still remember waking up in the morning and eagerly waiting for my favorite cereal Lucky Charms when I was a kid. However, I definitely would not recommend you to eat sugary breakfast id you want to lose weight.
University of Kansas Medical Center performed a study recently and they found that simply eating big breakfast wasn’t enough to reduce tummy fat. What they did is divide some people in few groups and provided breakfast containing different proportions. The group of people who took breakfast containing higher protein experienced more weight loss than the group who took breakfast containing lower protein. But the group who skipped breakfast got the worst result. In fact the group of people who ate breakfast containing half of a day’s total calories lost weight five times faster than the group of people who ate low calorie breakfast.
This study is the proof that a piece of toast and a cup of tea isn’t a good breakfast at all when it comes to losing belly fat fast. However, if this study isn’t enough to motivate you to take a whole foods big breakfast containing healthy items, then here are some more reasons why a big breakfast works.
You belly is hungry for 8-12 hours.
Hopefully you had a good sleep at night and your body has been fasting for the last 8-12 hours depending on when you had your dinner. This means that your metabolism process has slowed down and literally you’re burning zero fat. Besides, your sugar level is also low which will put you in an irritable mode and might cause some increased belly fat problems.
Big breakfast boosts your metabolism.
If you eat a big breakfast containing protein and carbohydrates it will make your metabolism run like a mad man. However, I already wrote in my previous post that, your breakfast should not contain food items like mayonnaise, sugary yogurt or any other sugary items. When you eat a wholesome breakfast with plenty of protein and fiber, you have a much better chance of staying satisfied than if you skimp in the morning, and that means you’ll be lest likely to grab a sugary muffin mid-morning or go for the cheeseburger and fries at lunch. Plus, breakfast boosts your metabolism and gives you the fuel you need for exercise
Breakfast is the best time to eat carbohydrates.
Most of the people exercise in the morning making it a perfect time to eat big breakfast loaded with proteins and good carbs. Besides, insulin and sugar sensitivity is also the highest in the morning which is why you can take in some good carbs.
Breakfast provide you with the energy you need for the whole day.
You are going to need a lot of energy for the day. If you eat a big breakfast you have the rest of the day to burn them off. But some people do the opposite. If you eat a huge amount of food at night, your body is going to store most of it since you’ll sleep for the rest of the night doing nothing to burn your tummy fat.
